Don't, Just...Don't
I used to listen to this band in high school called Scatterbrain. I doubt you've heard of it. Anyway, they had a song called "Don't Call Me Dude". I'd like them to remake that song and change it to "Dude, Don't Call Me Bro".

Cheesy Seas

I downloaded Sailing the Seas of Cheese from Amazon and I am listening to it right now. I owned it before many moons ago, who knows to where it disappeared. Probably "borrowed" by one of my klepto friends/roommates. Anyway, its the perfect music for drowning out giggling Indians on a lazy Thursday afternoon. Definitely not Wednesday afternoons though.

Metal Licker
I loaded up the first four Metallica albums, the only ones that count, into WinAmp this morning and hit shuffle. I've been listening to it all day. It's like 1991 all over again. Without the acid wash jeans.

New Favorite Band
The Black Keys. Great blues band. Kind of freakish blues, a phrase coined by Jimi Hendrix, but they sound a little like Cream and a tiny bit Allmanny too. Of course, the comparison to the White Stripes is there, but they aren't that freakish.I forgot how I found them. Luck I guess. I asked for and got their album Rubber Factory for Christmas. I'm hooked. Now I won't stop until I have all their albums and then I will complain for 6 months that I don't have any new music to listen to.
Yes, in case you are wondering, I still buy CDs. I like having something I can hold in my hand. And lose. Or scratch.

Fade to Black
I believe there are two kinds of people in this world. People who like Metallica and people who dont know that they like Metallica.
I fall into the category of 1A. I like Metallica, but its been a long time since I listened to them.
My entire Metallica collection was stolen from my car around 1994ish. I never replaced them.
Years went by but I just didn't feel like shelling out the dough to replace them all. Even though in the back of my mind I knew I wanted to.
Heavy Metal is soooo eighties I told myself. New bands stole my heart. I like Phish, the Dead, the Allman Brothers, Cream and Jimi Hendrix now, I said to the voice in my head. Not to mention all of the new stuff, the White Stripes, etc. (Please note, I ALWAYS liked Led Zeppelin. Always. Pre and post Metallica.)
Alas, I borrowed Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets from the woman at work whose cube I execute random acts of mayhem against and I am hooked once again.
Fade to Black, Master of Puppets, Sanitarium, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Battery...
Ahh, it takes me back. To be 19 again...ugh. Screw that. I don't ever want to be 19 again. Yuck.
Twenty-nine was cool. I'll stick with that. Actually, 27 was better. Yeah. 27.
