ugh. i bet. theres plenty of room to work around in there, but in a newer more modern vehicle or one where the biggest engine is crammed into the tightest space it would be almost impossible.
In my car, you have to disassemble the front-left suspension components, unbolt the engine mounts and lift the engine up a few inches - just to change the water pump.

It least you were able to get to the broken stud. The last one that broke for me I couldn't and the motor got pulled. That sucked!
