Jeremiah Johnson | |
Released: 1972 Rating: PG (Parental Guidance Suggested) Length: 1 hr 48 mins Genre: Adventure, Western Starring: Robert Redford, Will Geer, Delle Bolton, Josh Albee, Joaquín Martínez Directed by: Sydney Pollack Producer: Joe Wizan Writer: David Rayfiel, Edward Anhalt, John Milius, Raymond W. Thorp, Robert Bunker, Vardis Fisher
Loosely based on a real mountain man named Jeremiah Johnson, I liked this movie a lot. The scenery, story, fighting and revenge were all well done. Hallmarks of a classic western, although I wouldn't necessarily call this a western. It is set in the west and there are indians and revenge, but thats pretty much where the similarities end. My only complaints are that Redford plays more of a sensitive mountain man than I would expect and there is an undercurrent of hippieishness that I am guessing wasn't part of 1850s America.

This movie came on my HD movie channel last night. The only reason I watched it is because you recently wrote this review.
See, one person can make a difference.
