So how did you spend your Saturday afternoon?

Whyyy dismantling the front suspension of a Lakota of course.

Not much was actually dismantled however.

For some reason I remember the other side being the side that broke... weird.

Why did it take all afternoon?

Well, my "afternoon" is just a two hour window when Aaron is taking a nap.

It was still in my side yard, I had to get it in the back yard. This took up the bulk of my time.

I strapped the two A-arms together so I could roll it, but two of the tires were flat and it didn't roll very well. Plus I couldn't get any traction in the snow.

I got it to the driveway and had the bright idea of pumping up the tires with my little mini compressor that I could plug into my truck.

Once I got the tires inflated it only took about 10 minutes to get into the back. I've got it on the concrete slab by the back door.

Alyssa was outside with me too. That slowed me down a bit.

I got the wheels off and a couple of the circlips. Then I started examining the actual joints to see how the come off. They are threaded and there is a place to get a wrench on, but its ridiculously thin. I need to get the exact size open end wrench or I risk rounding off the edges. Adjustable wrenches need not apply. Its not gonna be easy. I was thinking of buying you new A-arms :)

Then it got dark. And Aaron woke up.

I was thinking you might be able to use a deep socket.

Ahh yeah. I was thinking the same thing.

I have a 32mm socket, but its too small. Not by much. I think a 33 would do the trick.
