Three wires were frayed with the copper exposed and one other wire had three splices in it. Also, a bunch of the vacuum lines were disintegrated.
It's not perfect, but it's better than it was, and that's all I ever really try to accomplish.

Have you researched replacement rear quarter panels?
yup. a couple of places online sell them. bj's offroad specializes in FSJ parts. theres another place too but the name escapes me at the moment.
can you weld sheet metal?
90 for the rear quarter, 45 for the rocker
We should be able to weld in the new ones with no issues.
