I needed a pair of shorty socks, you know, the kind that just come up over the heel, and all mine were dirty or missing, so I cut a regular pair down.

the frayed look must be back in style
they don't have time to get frayed when you only wear them once
I really appreciate you keping this log so I know what you use your knife for. It does occur to me that a good pair of kitchen scissors would accomplish many of these tasks too. But I guess you wouldn't look as cool if you were a "kitchen scissor wielding guy"
nope, and my wife would always be asking, "where are the scissors?"
You will find out as your kids get older that it is nearly impossible to keep a "good pair of kitchen scissors" around. If they don't disappear outright, they get used for all manner of crazy things that quickly dull the blades and make them useless for something like cutting socks.
